Living Wage Week 1st November 7th November

The idea behind a living wage is very simple: that a person should be paid enough to live decently and to adequately provide for their family.

At its heart is an ethical argument for preventing in-work poverty and ensuring workers are not exploited through low wages

The living wage was £7.85 per hour in the uk or £9.15 per hour in London. However it was announced today by the Living Wage Foundation an increase of £9.40 an hour in London, and £8.25 elsewhere in the UK,
