NHS Bursary

On the 11th January 2016 the Government will debate the petition challenging the proposals by government to scrap the NHS Bursary in August 2017. This will prevent many from training as they will end up with debts in excess of £50,000. Nurses and Midwives in December protested outside the Department of Health against the plans. The focus has very much been on the impact of nurses, but the reality is this bursary is given to many other health care students e.g. podiatrists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, dieticians, radiographers to name a few. We need to stand up for the students who will be the future of the NHS.
