Today Junior Drs were on strike across England today, thanks to Jeremy Hunt’s spectacular mismanagement and alienation of vital medical professionals. Everyone wants to see a better NHS, but it won’t be delivered by attacking the pay and working conditions of junior doctors. We applaud the doctors for standing up for their rights at work and patient safety.
Dave Prentis joined doctors on the picket lines today, for more information please follow this link: https://www.unison.org.uk/news/2016/02/unison-stands-behind-the-junior-doctors/

The Left Foot forward have an interesting article on what the doctors strike reveals about the nature of this government :http://leftfootforward.org/2016/02/the-junior-doctor-dispute-reveals-a-great-deal-about-the-nature-of-this-government/
We cannot let the Government erode public services and attack workers rights, we must stand together in solidarity. We have seen in recent months the Government attack the NHS, junior doctors, student nurses and other health students. Our local councils, social care and education is equally under attack. This is why UNIONS are important, they hold the Government to account and make sure that the workers voices are heard. If you are not in a union, you need to ask the question Can I afford not to be?
