The Branch has affiliated to 6 organisations which UNISON supports on a national and regional level.
ACTSA- Action for Southern Africa
ACTSA is the successor organisation to the Anti-Apartheid Movement. UNISON National Policy, determined at National Delegates Conference, is to support the work of ACTSA in southern Africa. They Work to eradicate poverty, support rights, justice, sustainable development and democracy across southern Africa.
Banana Link is a not-for-profit co-operative which works for fair and sustainable banana and pineapple trades. They raise awareness of the poor living and working conditions faced by plantation workers and small producers in Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean.
Cuba Solidarity Campaign
CSC are a British organisation that campaigns against the inhumane and illegal 50 year old blockade of Cuba, for an end to the US occupation of Cuban land at Guantanamo Bay, and to defend the Cuban people’s right to be free from foreign intervention. UNISON has a long-standing relationship with CSC as year after year motions are passed at National Delegates Conference to support the work of CSC. UNISON supported the setting up of an international commission of inquiry into the case of the Miami Five. The USA released the remaining members of the Five in December 2014.
Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign Action Group
NSCAG has worked with trade unions both in the UK and in Nicaragua. Work focuses on fostering and maintaining links of support and solidarity between trade unions in Nicaragua and the UK in order to share knowledge and experience, enhance mutual understanding and promote social and economic justice.
UNISON members have supported the work of NSCAG over a number of years. Several regions, branches and individual members have taken part in delegations to Nicaragua. The West Midlands region hosted a visit from a health union which was facilitated by NSCAG.

Labour Behind the Label is a campaign that works to improve conditions and empower workers in the global garment industry.
Palestine Solidarity Campaign
PSC is a community of people working together for peace, equality, and justice and against racism, occupation, and colonisation. Palestine has been a priority for the union for many years and has supported the work of PSC through affiliation, delegations and lobbying work. PSC is united in it’s belief that Israel’s flouting of international law, continued military occupation of Palestine, and systematic discrimination against Palestinians is unacceptable; so together they are taking action.
